What You'll Do as a Welder:
- Operate arc and gas welding on a wide variety of metals and their alloys, not requiring all- position welding
- Complete welding on commercial and military fabrications involving critical safety and load requirements
- Plan, layout, and perform diversified fabrication work
- Determine proper machine settings, gas, and filler selections for particular base metal and process applications
- Operate the ring roller and associated equipment
- Work from specifications, drawings, prints and welding symbols
- Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor
- Vocational or high school graduate with courses in mechanical drawing, shop mathematics and shop practices plus a formal on-the-job training or equivalent program
