In this role, you’ll help keep production running smoothly by moving materials, staging products, supporting work centers, and maintaining accurate inventory. If you enjoy hands-on work, staying busy, and being part of a reliable production team, this could be a great fit for you.
What You’ll Do as a Material Handler:
- Compare material identification information to verify accuracy
- Load and unload trucks
- Complete inventory counts and document discrepancies
- Supply work centers with materials and packaging
- Stage products based on production reports
- Accurately complete reports and related paperwork
- Remove and empty scrap containers and dispose of material as needed
- Monitor production flow to prevent delays
- Communicate effectively with all departments
- Operate production machinery as assigned
What You Need to Bring to the Material Handler Role:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 3+ months of warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to use computers for material movement processes
- Ability to operate shrink wrap machines, scales, and basic hand tools
- Ability to follow written work instructions
- Must obtain facility-specific forklift certification
- Reliable transportation to the Detroit Lakes area
