What You’ll Do as a TIG Welder:
- Perform TIG welding on aluminum materials, utilizing precise heat control and filler metal to create strong and aesthetically appealing welds
- Clean and prepare aluminum surfaces for welding, removing contaminants or impurities
- Examine and verify the integrity of aluminum materials to ensure quality standards
- Set up and adjust welding equipment, including torch, gas flow, and amperage
- Inspect finished welds for defects using visual and non-destructive testing methods
- Safely handle and move aluminum materials and welded components
- Monitor the manufacturing process to maintain workflow and address inefficiencies
- Accurately record production data in Epicor, machine settings, and maintenance activities
- High school diploma required; technical secondary education preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in TIG welding and MIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with different grades and types of aluminum and their welding requirements
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
