What You'll Do as a Shredder Operator:
- Work with team members to meet the production quota of shredded material
- Ensure proper operation of shred room equipment and dust collectors; report any issues to the department lead
- Remove any customer labels on boxes or bags
- Break down boxes and stack pallets as necessary
- Ensure material entering the shredder does not contain contaminants such as batteries or mercury-containing equipment
- Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
- Ability to move up to 100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms, or other related documents
- Ability to be at work and on time consistently
