SMT Line Operator

Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading electronics manufacturer to hire SMT Line Operators for their state-of-the-art facility in the Twin Cities area. What You’ll Do:
As an SMT Line Operator, you’ll play a key role in building high-quality electronic assemblies. You’ll operate and maintain Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automatic assembly and peripheral equipment, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and schedules are consistently met. You’ll collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and solve problems, contribute to continuous improvement, and uphold company values of integrity, engagement, and innovation.

What You’ll Do:
As an SMT Line Operator, you’ll play a key role in building high-quality electronic assemblies. You’ll operate and maintain Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automatic assembly and peripheral equipment, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and schedules are consistently met. You’ll collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and solve problems, contribute to continuous improvement, and uphold company values of integrity, engagement, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support SMT production lines to meet quality, efficiency, and schedule targets
- Prepare materials and equipment for production, ensuring optimal machine utilization
- Perform daily performance checks and participate in continuous improvement activities
- Accurately document work, including labor hours, issues, and safety concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following quality management system (QMS) procedures
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure consistent production flow
- 1–3 years of SMT or equivalent electronics manufacturing experience (preferred)
- IPC-610 certification (desired) or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. as needed
