What You'll Do as the Prototype Operator:
- Assemble prototype units and customer samples using minimal documentation such as sketches, CAD drawings, diagrams, and verbal instructions.
- Assemble and test products for production jobs, supporting pre‑production and manufacturing needs.
- Perform testing and data collection on prototypes and pre‑production units to support validation and development.
- Support engineering and manufacturing teams during new product introduction (NPI) into production.
- Assist with the design and improvement of tooling and manufacturing documentation.
- Serve as a technical liaison between engineering and manufacturing as parts transition from NPI to full production.
- Identify and communicate quality issues or risks that could impact product quality or delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and engineering objectives.
- 4–6 years of related manufacturing or prototype assembly experience.
- Strong skills in assembly of magnetic components.
- Experience with assembly processes including hand soldering, winding, wire stripping, lead termination, and general magnetics assembly best practices.
- Ability to interpret sketches, CAD drawings, diagrams, and verbal instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work on semi‑routine tasks while recognizing when deviations from standard practices are necessary.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Ability to work in a production environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat, or mild chemicals and to use required safety equipment.
