About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Press Helpers for a leading manufacturing company located in Eden Prairie, MN. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and want reliable hours with weekly pay, this job could be a great fit. Read below for more information!
What You’ll Do as a Press Helper:
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Assist the press operator in preparing the printing press for operation
- Gather inks, stock, and plate cylinders
- Fit bushings, gears, and side to side compensator on cylinders
- Load set-up film on to the press and unwrap and tape down plates
- Check ink viscosity as per ink sheet and prepare pre-make ready for the next work order
- While the press is running, perform general maintenance around the press area
- Assist the press operator with changing plate cylinders, anilox rollers, fountain rollers and blade assemblies
- Operate a hoist device for the installation and removal of cylinders, rollers and blade assemblies
- Remove old ink, stock, and plate cylinders from the previous printing job
- Clean the old plates with solvent and remove the plates from the cylinders
- Clean the dock pans of old ink and change hoses and pumps if needed
- Assist the press operator in observing the web to ensure quality of print
- High school education or its equivalent preferred
- Ability to follow directions and effectively function as part of a team
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Good color acuity and problem-solving abilities with basic math skills
