What You’ll Do as a CNC Operator:
- Measure dimensions of finished workpiece to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration, and notify appropriate personnel
- Stop machines to remove finished workpieces, or change the tolling setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machine practices
- Lift workpieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes
- Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation
- Maintain all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures for the work area
- High school diploma or GED required
- Proven experience working with CNC machines
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures for using specific equipment or machines to meet defined quality and quantity standards
- Ability to continuously lift up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and procedures
- Must be quality-oriented and demonstrate the ability to produce results that meet or exceed set standards
- Customer-focused attitude and ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction
