Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Armature Winders for a well‑established electrical manufacturing facility in Minneapolis, MN. In this hands-on role, you’ll help build and repair AC/DC rotating equipment by winding, assembling, connecting, and testing components. If you enjoy detailed craftsmanship, working with your hands, and being part of a skilled team, this could be a great long-term fit.
What You’ll Do as an Armature Winder:
- Wind stators and rotors according to engineering specifications
- Perform layout work using blueprints, BOMs, and winding schematics
- Measure, cut, and install slot insulation materials
- Braze or solder electrical connections using torches, soldering irons, and brazing equipment
- Assemble and insulate connections, lashing studs, and phase groups
- Install and connect main stator leads and perform in‑process electrical testing
- Assist with winding turbo rotors and exciter rotors, including troubleshooting electrical issues
- Work across additional winding-related tasks such as coil taping, VPI, coil manufacturing, or pole winding
What You Need to Bring to the Armature Winder Role:
- High school diploma required
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred (not required)
- Ability to become certified in overhead crane, jib crane, and forklift operation
- Ability to lift 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable standing or sitting for long periods and working in tight or elevated areas
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, blueprints, and schematics
- Reliable transportation to the Minneapolis area
