What you will do as the Welder Lead:
- Weld metal components together with a variety of gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, and small and large structural weldments.
- Weld per instructions and/or engineering drawings
- Weld parts using approved welding procedures
- Support the setup of equipment, layout, and weld preparations
- Position and clamp together components prior to welding
- Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to first article inspection with limited supervision
- Perform all operations with the highest regard to personal safety and the safety of others, and at a level of performance acceptable to the supervisor
- Responsible for housekeeping in the general area
What you need to be a Welder Lead:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, written instructions, manuals, safety rules, etc.
- Additional shop skills are preferred
- Proficiency in the use of forklifts, cranes, slings, chains, hooks, and other appropriate devices or equipment is preferred
- Ability to stand, crouch, and walk with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
