What You’ll Do as a Maintenance Mechanic:
- Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment
- Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with safety procedures and OSHA requirements
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs to minimize downtime
- Rebuild machines and overhaul unreliable components and attachments
- Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment functionality and productivity
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
What You Need to Bring to the Maintenance Mechanic Role:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Two or more years of vocational or technical training in mechanical repair is preferred
- Two or more years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures
- Strong mechanical, mathematical, and analytical skills
- Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working at heights using an aerial lift
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and stoop for extended periods
- Comfortable working around loud noise, outdoor climates, and confined spaces
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical assessment, drug screen, and background check #metrocareers
