Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a leading company located in Willmar, MN. This position will be M-F day shift but requires a rotating schedule every 3 or 4 months where you work a month of nights. The maintenance technician is responsible for ensuring the proper function of all equipment and facilities. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical failures, repairs, following preventative maintenance schedules, updating parts inventories, installation of new equipment and general facility management. What You'll Do as a Maintenance Technician:
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions promptly
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hatchery equipment (incubators, hatchers, HVAC, automation equipment, compressors, water systems, sprayers)
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and facility
- Maintain and update spare parts, equipment, and tool inventories
- Follow and promote all safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity protocols
- Participate in routine safety checks of equipment, tools, and work areas
- Address mechanical failures in a timely manner to maintain a safe environment
- Complete additional tasks requested by the maintenance supervisor
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1+ years of experience in maintenance and repair
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical system failures
- Basic understanding of industrial maintenance and mechanical components
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems (boilers, chillers, air handling units)
- Ability to lift, push, and handle objects up to 50 lbs and work in hot/humid environments
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for 12-hour shifts and work rotating schedules including weekends and holidays
