Maintenance Technician - Direct Hire
Job Description
What you’ll do as a Maintenance Technician:
- Install, maintain, and repair production or processing equipment
- Perform troubleshooting and machine overhauls using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machines and building systems
- Inspect motors, drives, belts, and fluid levels, and perform maintenance tasks following checklists
- Use hand tools, power tools, and testing devices to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, pipe systems, plumbing, and machinery
- Review blueprints, manuals, and catalogs to determine repair strategies
- Record maintenance work and associated costs
- Clean and lubricate parts, including shafts, bearings, and gears
- Dismantle machinery using hoists, cranes, and hand tools to access faulty components
- Keep work areas clean and ensure all tasks meet safety, environmental, and health standards
- Training from vocational school, on-the-job experience, or an associate’s degree
- Skills in mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, machining, electrical, and PLC (programmable logic control)
- Ability to use a range of tools and testing equipment
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Initiative and ability to work independently
- Effective communication skills in English
- Physical ability to perform tasks including continuous lifting of 1–20 lbs., frequent lifting of 21–49 lbs., and occasional lifting of 50–85 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend, twist, push, pull, and work in hot/cold environments
- Comfortable working in loud, high-vibration, and mechanically active environments
