Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Machine Operators for a leading supplier in the fishing industry located in Spirit Lake, IA. In this role, you’ll help monitor and maintain extrusion equipment to produce quality monofilament products. What You’ll Do as an Machine Operator:
- Monitor extruders for continuous operation
- Perform mixing and set-up operations
- Maintain operational logs on oven and roll stand settings and temperatures
- Remove full spools and position empty spools on take-up
- Check lines for roughness, proper test, correct diameter, and elongation
- Perform die changes, braid changes, color changes, and material changes
- Record material usage and note all scrap
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Disassemble and reassemble die packs
What You Need to Bring to the Machine Operator Role:
- High school diploma or GED, or 6–12 months related experience/training
- Mechanical aptitude with good hand dexterity and coordination
- Ability to follow recipes and data to produce quality monofilament
- Ability to handle spools and materials weighing 5–50 lbs and move containers up to 200 lbs using a barrel cart (with or without
- reasonable accommodations)
- Ability to use good judgment to maximize yield while maintaining safety
