What you will do as a Heat Treat Production Associate:
- Set-up and disassemble loads and/or operate heat treating equipment, such as heat-treating furnaces, vacuum furnaces, and induction machines, that anneal, temper, harden or heat-treat metal objects
- Set automatic controls, observe gauges, and operate gas or electric furnace used to harden temper, anneal heat treat metal parts
- Load parts into containers in accordance with load diagrams, closes furnace door, and insert parts into furnace when specified temperature is reached
- Adjust machine settings with assistance when necessary
- Remove parts from the furnace after specified time and air-dry/cool parts in water or oil brine
- Read production schedule to determine processing sequence and furnace temperature requirements for objects to be heat treated
- Light gas burners and adjusts flow of gas and coolant water
- Ability to read work orders to determine processing specifications
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to follow work instructions
