? Full-time, Regular | Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)
? $23–$27/hour + $250/month vehicle allowance + mileage reimbursement ($0.70/mile)
About the RoleDoherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering and construction services company to hire Utility Locate Auditors for full-time opportunities in North Houston, Downtown Houston, and South Houston, TX. These positions support damage prevention and safety compliance for natural gas and electric utility infrastructure at active construction sites.This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with 1–3 years of utility locating or inspection experience who are ready to grow their careers in the construction and infrastructure industry.
What You’ll Do
- Perform utility locates and flag gas and electric lines at active and planned construction sites
- Conduct audits to verify accuracy and completeness of utility markings
- Inspect excavation, installation, and backfill/restoration work for compliance with safety and quality standards
- Document work daily using company-provided technology (iPad, ticket systems, etc.)
- Navigate to multiple field locations each day and coordinate with contractors, clients, and site crews
- Enforce and support strict safety and compliance requirements
- Participate in operator qualification and training programs as needed
What You’ll BringRequired:
- 1–3 years of experience performing utility locates (gas/electric preferred)
- Strong understanding of local 811 processes and laws
- Proficiency with ticket management systems and electronic documentation
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication, organization, and technical skills
- Ability to pass drug screenings (pre-employment and random)
- Two-year technical degree in civil engineering, utilities, or a related field
- Familiarity with utility mapping, as-built documentation, and construction processes
- Steady full-time work with growth potential
