What You'll Do as a EHS Coordinator:
- Support facility-wide compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs for employees across all shifts · Maintain EHS records, documentation, and training files in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, labeling, storage, tracking, and shipping activities
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and workplace assessments while ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-misses and assist with implementing preventive measures
- Lead and support safety committees, ergonomic initiatives, and continuous improvement programs throughout the facility
- Serve as a resource for environmental compliance, chemical safety, and EHS best practices
What You Need to Bring to the EHS Coordinator Role:
- 1-2 years of experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator or related role
- Knowledge of environmental compliance, workplace safety programs, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS), safety procedures, and technical documents
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with employees, leadership, vendors, and outside agencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment #metrocareers
