Dock Coordinator - Direct Hire
Job Description
What you’ll do as a Dock Coordinator:
- Lead the forklift operators in the efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of all supplies, products, and raw materials
- Assist in the set up and control of FEFO Inventory System to ensure uninterrupted flow of product and materials
- Monitor workflow between inbound and outbound loads and adjust staffing accordingly
- Model load and paperwork handling best practices
- Hold teams accountable for scanning and tagging products
- Ensure timely reporting to management of all incidents that would impact food safety and personnel safety
- Serve as a liaison between staff teams to facilitate streamlined communication and minimize load delays
- Assist in staging and preparation of documentation for product and material being picked up or shipped
- Drive process improvement initiatives aimed at gaining efficiencies throughout the DC’s
- Create SOPs as needed to ensure consistent methods used by all Forklift Operators
- Provide inventory for forklift operators when needed or when requested
- Communicate with all leads and supervisors with an update at the end of each shift
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, quality production and Food Safety
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in Warehousing/Forklift in the past 5 years
- Regular standing and sitting required for extended periods of time
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work within warehouse management system and use scanning equipment
- Ability to regularly bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Comfortable in warehouse and production environment that may include noise, dust, production chemicals and variable temperatures
- Knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and customer portals
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, customers and visitors
