Job Description
Order Management Specialist Responsibilities:
- Track and manage backorders, out-of-stock items, and obsolete products to keep manufacturers running without delays.
- Place rush orders for urgent customer needs and update lead times for items on backorder.
- Maintain customer order tracking spreadsheets, especially for major accounts.
- Communicate order status updates to customers and internal teams via email.
- Collaborate with account managers and sales representatives to provide alternative solutions when items are delayed or unavailable.
- Monitor order tracking from plants to ensure accurate delivery information.
- Support the purchasing and customer service teams in reviewing open orders and order updates.
What we are looking for:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (tracking, spreadsheets, and conditional formatting).
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Previous experience in purchasing, customer service, or order management is a plus.
