What You'll Do as a Corn Sorter:
- Plant, maintain, and monitor seed production fields.
- Perform harvest activities, including crop preparation, sorting, drying, shelling, and related processes.
- Complete seed return and rework activities as needed.
- Operate conditioning equipment and perform tasks such as sizing, gravity separation, bagging, and palletizing.
- Follow all ISO Work Instructions, Quality Plan requirements, and established safety procedures.
- Support warehouse operations, including forklift operation, sample collection, inventory handling, and seed pooling activities.
- Perform general equipment, facility, and maintenance repairs.
- Execute and/or coordinate assigned field operations to support production goals.
- Assist with scheduling, workflow planning, and resolving operational challenges as they arise.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure production quality, efficiency, and compliance standards are met.
- Work overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts during seasonal peak periods as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree (agriculture-focused) preferred
- 1+ years of related or on-the-job experience
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL may be needed later)
- Knowledge of agriculture and plant operations preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, weather conditions, and production demands.
- Familiarity with field equipment.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.
- Basic computer and PC proficiency preferred.
- Willingness to work across multiple environments, including field, plant, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to climb, work at elevated heights, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Capable of standing, sitting, bending, and performing repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation #WEjobhunt
