CNC Programmer
Job Description
What a CNC Programmer will do:
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to create toolpaths and machining instructions
- Accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances; perform layout and measurement of workpieces
- Program, set up, and operate both manual and CNC machines for prototype and production runs
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production staff to improve machining methods and results
- Inspect completed parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure adherence to specifications
- Adjust tooling and machine settings as necessary to meet complex design requirements and tight tolerances
- Document machining procedures, inspection results, and production metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives
What you need to be a CNC Programmer:
- 3+ years of experience in CNC programming, and exposure to both manual and CNC machining environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in G-code programming and CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, or similar)
- Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, feeds/speeds
