What You’ll Do as a CNC Machinist:
- Study blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on materials or workpieces
- Select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines
- Calculate and set machining controls or enter commands for CNC programs
- Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments
- Verify finished workpiece specifications using precision measuring tools
- Perform trial runs to confirm machine settings and program accuracy
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve machining issues
- 2-year machining degree preferred
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- Basic computer skills
- Familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC is a plus
