Job Description
Are you ready to start your career in the manufacturing industry? Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturer located in Wahpeton, ND. We are seeking candidates for Wood Production Specialists on the 1st shift. Hours for this position are 6:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime on Saturdays as needed. What a Wood Production Specialist will do:
What a Wood Production Specialist will do:
- Prepare product for finish operation
- Remove burnish lines by hand or machine sanding
- Measure each size of board to ensure correct dimensions and inspect boards for defects
- Count boards on pallets and compares the amount with the listing on the shop packet worksheet
- Complete labor top and related information for the shop packet worksheet
- Conduct inspection to ensure compliance with pre-established customer specifications and quality standards
- Keep supervisor informed of job-related problems, quality issues, and other information related to work
- High school education or GED
- 6+ months of production, assembly, or related work experience where job duties involved the frequent use of hand tools
- Manual/finger dexterity skills
- Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Knowledge of production and/or inspection methods and procedures as they apply to assigned work
