What a Welder will do:
- Operator arc and gas welding on a wide variety of metals and their alloys, not requiring all-position welding
- Complete welding on commercial and military fabrications involving critical safety and load requirements
- Plan, layout, and perform diversified fabrication work
- Determine proper machine settings, gas, and filler selections for particular base metal and process applications
- Operate the ring roller and associated equipment
- Work from specifications, drawings, prints, and welding symbols
- Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor
What you need to be a Welder:
- Requires experience in welding methods and techniques, material characteristics, and fit-up procedures as may be acquired through two (2) years of vocational welding or high school supplemented by formal on-the-job training or equivalent in welding practices
