What a Spray Dryer Operator will do:
- Take required samples and deliver them to the QA lab and communicate with the QA lab for results, test product for moisture and PH
- Communicate with previous shift, relief, supervision, and other operators to exchange information on process conditions and other pertinent issues
- Inform supervision of any unusual changes in process conditions, mechanical or electrical failures or malfunctions, unsafe conditions, etc.
- Responsible for checking equipment to make sure it is working properly, cleaning out equipment periodically, and preparing equipment for product change
- Compliance with all Safety, Environmental, and Operating Standards
- Report any Safety concerns to the Plant Manager as soon as they are identified
- Ensure plant equipment is operating at maximum efficiency
- General maintenance such as screen changes, lubricating equipment
- Conduct rounds throughout the production/packaging unit and record information on the Shift Log
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Must have negative pre-employment and/or subsequent drug/alcohol test results
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
