What you will do as a Sheet Metal Lead:
- Communicate priority, work assignments, and cross-training needs to meet the production schedule
- Provide feedback and recommend training for the employees
- Provide work direction and train employees in work procedures
- Report and help resolve problems as they arise
- Perform in-process inspection and completed unit inspection
- Perform any combination of tasks using sheet metal machines
- Communicate with various levels of the organization
- Lead the team with safety practices and employee handbook adherence
What you need to be a Sheet Metal Lead:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Degree or certificate from a vocational school and/or 5+ years of experience
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read blueprints and use a caliper to measure dimensions
- Experience working with press brake and sheet metal fabrication machines
