What you will do as a Saw Operator:
What you will do as a Saw Operator:
- Load and unload saws with an overhead crane
- Read production tickets to determine what cuts are necessary for that stone
- Review work to ensure it meets the production tickets
- Index the saw blades to the correct sizes and dimensions
- Level, wedge, and square stones on the saw cart using large hammers and pry bars
- Load pre-programmed profiles from the network and input manual cuts as needed
- Monitor the saw during operation; adjusting and correcting it as needed
- Troubleshoot cutting problems that may arise
- General computer skills
- Ability to perform a variety of duties
- Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings
- Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric
- Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed
