What a Quality Inspector will do:
- Responsible for mechanical and electrical inspection of complex mechanical equipment and/or electrical/electronic apparatus
- Set up and test electronic components for conformity to manufacturing standards
- Record the type and quantity of defects
- Make decisions of consequence as to acceptable quality, determine reasons for rejects, and disposition
- Work with suppliers and buyers to communicate defect information and corrective action responses
- Work from complex and involved drawings and specifications
- Responsible for the review and generation of inspection documents
- Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and testing devices
What you need to be a Quality Inspector:
- Vocational or high school graduate required, plus a formal accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training in inspection
