The Quality Engineer has primary responsibility to support and respond to customer needs for matters related to product quality assurance. This position works in collaboration with the Customer Focused Team to execute on quality processes and standards to consistently meet the goals of customers and the organization. This position directly reports to the Business Unit Quality Leader while getting daily customer direction from their Customer Focused Team Leaders. This positions indirectly provides supporting leadership to the Quality Inspectors / Technicians in executing on the customers quality goals. Salary will depend upon experience but could range $70,000-100,000 plus great benefits and opportunity to grow! DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Collects data for quality performance analysis using industry standard tools.
  • Conducts root cause analysis to determine reasons for production quality issues.
  • Suggests corrective actions to mitigate quality related issues.
  • Prepares and presents quality data reports, including companywide KPIs to quality management.
  • Works closely with production personnel in work cells assisting with procedure training.
  • Works closely with Customer Focus Team members directly supporting and interacting with customers.
  • Provides support and flexibility in customer projects, objectives and deadlines beyond the normal job scope as required.
  • Oversees quality performance of assigned work cells.
  • Supports internal and external quality audits.
  • Assist in the setup and workflow of customer work cells.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • A technical degree plus 4 years' experience in any combination of Quality Assurance, manufacturing/process engineering, (preferably in electronics PCB assembly environment); OR 2-year technical diploma/certificate in Electronics with 6 years' experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in electronics engineering, manufacturing, or quality, preferably in a high tech or electronics industry.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ISO 9001 and 13485 standards is required.
  • Experience in performing quality audits for internal teams and vendors is strongly recommended.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry standard quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8-D, Control Plans, Acceptance Sampling, Metrology-GRR, Process Capability Analysis is strongly recommended.
  • Strong knowledge of IPC electronic manufacturing standards is recommended.
  • Work experience in a cGMP FDA 21 CFR Part 820, AS9100, AS9102 and ISO 14001 environment is strongly desirable.
  • Desired certifications: Six Sigma - Green/Black Belt, ASQ CQE, CQA.
SKILLS REQUIRED: 
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Word and PowerPoint with advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and to deliver results accurately and on time.
  • Capable of working independently to achieve project schedules and goals.  
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills involving the ability to work effectively, cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills adaptable to all levels of the organization.
  • Seasoned at providing coaching, feedback and assisting in conflict resolution.
  • Comfortable in presenting to and meeting customers in person.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a proactive positive sense, even with delivering negative messages.
