What you will do as a Purchasing Specialist:
- Source and purchase materials, tools, and equipment required for plumbing and pipefitting projects
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support project timelines without overstocking
- Compare supplier quotes, analyze costs, and negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, and delivery dates
- Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, quality standards, and relevant regulations
- Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other stakeholders to forecast material needs and resolve supply chain issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, inventory, and vendor performance
- Accurately entering vendor invoices for payment, and matching invoices with all packing slips and quotes
- Review contracts and insurance policies
- Enter jobs into our system accurately as requested by project managers
