Process Engineering ManagerA leading global company specializing in the design, development, prototyping, and manufacturing of advanced electronic products and subsystems for aerospace and defense is seeking a Process Engineering Manager for its largest U.S. printed circuit board facility, located in Minnetonka, MN.
This role is ideal for experienced managers as well as accomplished team leaders ready to take the next step in their careers. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of approximately 8-12 employees across process engineering and chemical laboratory departments.
  • Develop and support direct reports, fostering professional growth.
  • Oversee and refine manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and product compliance.
  • Establish and maintain process control plans and standard operating procedures.
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to ensure consistent quality standards.
  • Utilize a structured problem-solving approach, applying statistical tools to control processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide training to manufacturing personnel on procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in real-time problem resolution and troubleshooting.
  • Report on progress, project plans, and yield data to management as needed.
  • Contribute to equipment and material selection, including specification development.
  • Offer Design for Manufacturability (DFM) support for new projects.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a strong track record in process implementation, yield improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience in chemical processing and plating techniques
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, with a structured approach to resolution.
  • Strong communication skills, effective at all levels of the organization.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor team members.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of lean practices and statistical process control.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet goals, and communicate effectively with engineering teams, production staff, and leadership.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to take initiative and support both direct and indirect reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred; other educational backgrounds considered based on experience.
  • Experience in printed circuit board manufacturing, semiconductor, solar, plating operations, or circuit board assembly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performance teams at varying experience levels.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
