What a Press Operator will do:
- The position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining a variety of press equipment
- Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the Flexographic press operation, such as mounting plates or installing print cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections and checking for correct positioning of images, prepping web paths, adjusting tension and registering, etc.
- Make necessary color corrections and adjustments prior to the production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts
- Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer
What you need to be a Press Operator:
- 5+ years of thorough knowledge of Flexographic printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments
- Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings, and materials needed to run the job successfully
- Ability to make a variety of difficult precise web paths, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment
- Skilled in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, excel, Word, and Google preferred
- Ability to use Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, or Webtron preferred
