Powder Coat Painter - Weekend Shift
Job Description
What you will do as a Powder Coat Painter:
- Prepare and apply powder coating materials to metal components using powder coating guns or other application equipment, ensuring even and uniform coverage
- Clean and prepare metal surfaces before the powder coating process, removing any contaminants, rust, or debris that could affect the adhesion of the coating
- Properly mix and prepare powder coating materials, selecting the appropriate color and type of powder for each job
- Transfer coated components to curing ovens and monitor the curing process to achieve the desired coating adhesion and finish
- Inspect finished components for defects or imperfections, ensuring that they meet quality standards and specifications
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while handling powder coating materials and operating equipment, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety regulations
- Monitor the powder coating process to maintain a steady workflow and promptly address any deviations or inefficiencies
- Record production data in Epicor, material usage, and any quality issues including daily production reports, tally sheets, scrap reports, etc.
What you need to be a Powder Coat Painter:
- 1+ years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or metal-finishing industry
- 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English
- Proficiency in powder coating application techniques and equipment operation
- Knowledge of various types of powder coatings and their specific application requirements
- Understanding of surface preparation techniques to achieve optimal coating adhesion #NEjobhunt
