Powder Coat Lead
Job Description
What a Powder Coat Lead will do:
- Follow all safety policies and procedures throughout your performance of duties.
- Report all incidents in a timely manner
- Utilize good practice methods for continuous improvement
- Adhere to ISO standards and Met Council requirements.
- Follow quality guidelines and procedures while performing inspections on produced parts through the use of precision measuring and gauging equipment
- Sustain a solid level or better performance by meeting productivity and efficiency standards
- Utilize the ERP system applicable for your specific role
- Support the overall goals and objectives of the organization
- Maintain a good attendance record
What you need to be a Powder Coat Lead:
- Advanced knowledge of powder paint systems and applications, including:
- Powder materials, types, properties, storage, and handling
- Cleaning and pretreatment systems, chemistry, testing, monitoring, maintenance, and regulatory requirements
- Conveyance systems and maintenance
- Powder coating application equipment, techniques, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Part masking and hanging techniques focused on quality, line density, and optimal transfer efficiency
- Dry off and cure oven set up, maintenance, and monitoring
- Overall, automated system maintenance and troubleshooting
- Rework techniques and processes
- Advanced blueprint reading
- Advanced inspection experience
- Set up experience specific to the department or equipment
- Understanding of Material Properties, including Flatness, Surface Grades, Types, Gauge, etc.
- Appropriate communication skills (Read, Write, Speak, Listen)
- Process and detail orientation. The ability to discuss, deploy, and document best practices to ensure quality and productivity expectations are achieved or exceeded
