Payroll Administrator - 1st Shift
Job Description
What you will do as a Payroll Administrator:
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment
- Verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with supervisors and employees
- Maintain and update employee payroll information, including tax withholdings, direct deposit details, and benefits deductions
- Prepare and distribute pay statements, W-2s, and other payroll-related documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and deductions in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with onboarding new employees, including setting up payroll accounts and explaining payroll policies
- Maintain confidential employee records, including time-off balances, attendance, and disciplinary actions
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining office supplies
- Collaborate with the HR and finance departments to support audits, reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or equivalent experience in business administration or accounting is preferred
- 2+ years of experience in payroll administration or a related administrative role
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
