What a Material Handler will do:

What a Material Handler will do:
- Read work orders and follow instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved
- Load and unload materials onto pallets, racks, or designated areas using hand trucks, dollies, or other tools
- Transport materials between storage, work sites, and staging areas to keep operations flowing
- Monitor production for inconsistencies and promptly report any issues to your supervisor
- Resolve minor production concerns and escalate significant problems as needed
- Safely lift heavy objects manually or using power hoists as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by cleaning machines, equipment, and workspaces
- Assemble crates for packaging and ensure proper containment of products
- Occasionally operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist with loading or moving materials
- Adhere to comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training
- Follow 5S principles daily to maintain an efficient and clean work environment
- Actively engage in cross-training and team collaboration to enhance productivity and skill development
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with basic tools and equipment for material handling
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and work collaboratively
- Experience operating industrial trucks or electric hoists (preferred but not required)
- Manufacturing experience, particularly in window or door production
- Excellent time management skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work at a consistent pace
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to assemble products and operate machinery accurately
