What you will do as a Drafter:
- Review the project scope of work with the project manager and/or drafting manager
- Produce necessary sketches, drawings, and schedules using company-provided software (Microvellum, AutoCAD, Office 365)
- Review and self-edit shop drawings to assure adherence to project requirements, bid allowances, and company standards
- Revise drawing sets and documentation per markups to prepare necessary shop and job site document sets
- Communicate with internal departments and outside vendors
- Assist Project Managers in managing drawing sets and project-specific documentation
- Work with multiple project managers and projects concurrently
- Use available resources to build your job-related skills and value in the department/company
What you need to be a Drafter:
- CAD experience. Fluent in AutoCAD
- Ability to think in 3D
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Computer literate – ability to navigate using Windows and Microsoft applications
- Flexibility –requires extended periods working in a general office environment, working on multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to use basic measuring tools – tape measure, architect's scale, protractor, and digital caliper
- Excellent math skills
- Excellent communication skills
