What you’ll do as a Production Worker:
- Complete visual inspection of the raw product on the conveyor and pick out major defects in the product
- Responsible for keeping the conveyors, cutters, surge hoppers, floor, front, north, and south sides of the dryer to C stage free from product buildup
- Sanitize all process equipment via procedures established by the quality
- Mix chemicals and/or additives required for the process
- Responsible for consistent product flow from holding bins to steam peelers
- Ensure the working area around the steam peeler remains clean and free from debris, including the floor, flumes, conveyors, bins, equipment, and wastewater areas
- Inspect rock traps and document findings
- Responsible for recording the required information on paperwork
- Ensure all equipment from the end of the dryer is functioning properly and the product is flowing smoothly
- Visually monitor the metal detector and notify the Quality Assurance shift worker if the metal detector rejects any product
What you’ll bring to the Production Worker role:
- High School Graduate or GED
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two or three-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10s and 100s and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to operate bag sealer, pallet wrapper, weight hopper, weigh scale, forklift, pallet jack, and grinding mills #worknow
