What you will do as a CNC Machine Operator:
- Operate and maintain Omag Mills
- Use cranes to load and unload work from the machines
- Load programs from the network
- Prepare the mill bed with the necessary brackets and risers
- Level and align the stone to the axis on the mill bed
- Review program sheets with stone and shop tickets to verify that the correct stone and tools are loaded
- Assemble mill tools as needed for the program and disassemble tools when the job is complete
- Monitor machine operation
- Verify work quality by applying patterns and measuring stone
- Use large hammers and pry bars to position the stone on the mill bed
- Assist crane operators
- Perform 5S and Total Productive Maintenance duties on mills, tool benches, and work areas
What you need to be a CNC Machine Operator:
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production
- Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Mechanically inclined
- General math skills
- Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings
- Ability to read a tape measure, imperial, and metric
- Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train
