What you will do as a Manufacturing Engineer:

What you will do as a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes and flow of materials/products through the shop by applying knowledge of manufacturing principles and process improvement theories
- Recommend and implement changes leading to improved efficiency and reduced cost while maintaining quality
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; research, design, and implement manufacturing methods and equipment/techniques that meet or exceed production cost targets and maintain quality
- Recommend, specify, and validate new equipment and tools
- Prepare cost, utilization, efficiency, and other performance metric reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing shop floor data
- Evaluate capital equipment through research, justification, and purchasing.
- Create manufacturing process instructions, conduct FMEAs, develop and conduct process validations
- Participate in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, tooling and process requirements, rework methods, as well as corrective action processing to minimize future issues
- Create engineering change requests for continuous improvement and processes engineering change orders including shop floor disposition
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering; or a combination of other degrees and experience
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Expertise in Lean manufacturing (5S, continuous improvement, cell design, plant layout, mistake-proofing), metal forming, component design and fabrication, mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, machine and tool design
