Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
Job Description
What you’ll do as a Maintenance Technician:
- Supervise production mechanics in the completion of maintenance tasks as directed by maintenance management
- Prioritize and manage workflow for mechanics performing both minor and major repairs on equipment, meeting GMP and sanitary requirements for a food processing facility
- Assess time and materials needed for repairs and allocate personnel accordingly
- Inspect completed work and test equipment as applicable, ensuring work quality and correction of any deficiencies
- Support preventive maintenance program development and conduct research for specifications
- Coordinate with external contractors to complete projects and improvements as needed
- Maintain open communication with maintenance staff and production teams
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of completed work orders, including relevant details
- Maintain required documentation and data entry related to maintenance tasks and PMs
- Provide information for accurate parts inventory management
- Assist in training maintenance staff and ensure safe work practices in alignment with company policies
- 1-year certificate from a college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, with effective communication skills
- Mathematical skills to perform standard calculations, including rates and percentages
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various types of instructions
- Certifications: PIT Certification, driver’s license, HazMat, Confined Space Entry, and LOTO
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, low-voltage electrical systems, and motor controllers
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
