What a Machine Operator will do:
What a Machine Operator will do:
- Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of parts to determine operating requirements
- Mount workpiece between center in chuck or in collet
- Depress buttons, toggle, and start machining operation
- Observe displays on control panel and compare with data on the process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments
- Perform spot checks on succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications per instruction on In-Process Inspection Report
- Operate additional machines during computer-controlled machining cycles, when necessary and feasible
- Machine metallic and nonmetallic materials
- Deburr products produced as needed
- Mark and/or tag nonconforming material as needed and place them in nonconforming hold designated areas
- Tag and/or mark completed material and move product to appropriate areas
- Watch and check coolant fluid levels during machine operation
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to read and comprehend blueprints and written instructions
- Basic math and reasoning capabilities
- Able to stand for 90% of shift
- Capable of using hands and frequently walk, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and /or legs repeatedly
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
