What you will do as a Machine Operator:

What you will do as a Machine Operator:
- Manufacture parts to blueprints and/or sketches using Operator Inspection Instructions
- Inspect parts produced as instructed by Operator Inspection Instructions, teacher, set-up person, lead-person, or supervisor using tools such as tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
- Arrange parts and clean machines
- Operate various types and sizes of stamping presses in a safe and efficient manner
- Operate machines including milling machines, CNC machines, spot welders, and others as instructed
- Perform duties as specified on the Daily Maintenance/Safety Checklist for equipment being operated
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- High school diploma or 18 years of age
- Pass a math measurement/blueprint test with a score of 85% or better
- Recent mechanical and shop experience:
- Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, and practices used in the production process
- Understanding of related safety requirements, including proper use of safety equipment and precautions
- Ability to follow routine oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Average math skills and mechanical ability
