Job Description
Enjoy 3-day weekends with this exciting new opportunity! Doherty Staffing Solutions is currently partnering with a leading supplier in pallet manufacturing and lumber processing located in Menahga, MN. We are seeking candidates for Lead Machine Operator roles on the 1st shift, from 6:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Compensation for these temp-to-hire opportunities is $19.00-$20.00 per hour. What you will do as a Lead Machine Operator:

What you will do as a Lead Machine Operator:
- Operate the lumber stacking machine and supervise production operations
- Ensure lumber quality meets company standards and customer specifications
- Monitor production efficiency, minimize downtime and scrap, and ensure proper lumber sorting
- Respond quickly when the line is down and safely power down equipment as needed
- Motivate and direct the team to perform effectively
- Start up, set up, and shut down the line, including saws, stackers, and de-duster adjustments
- Perform equipment inspections and maintain housekeeping as specified
- Inspect lumber for size tolerances and surface defects
- Adjust saw height, stacker counts, and other equipment settings as needed
- Ensure packaging and labeling meet standards and complete necessary paperwork
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure the production team performs to expectations
- Mechanical aptitude and prior forklift certification
- Mechanical training or experience preferred
- At least one year of post-high school education preferred
- Experience with team supervision is preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Initiative to work independently or in a team
- Basic math skills required
