What you will do as a Heavy Assembler:
- Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
- Use hand tools and air tools, including rivet guns, to build product
- Verify specifications by measuring completed components
- Develop understanding of customer quality requirements and accomplish work assignments with a commitment to PTI’s quality standards
- Demonstrate solid understanding of documentation and utilize resources to prevent quality concerns proactively
- Exhibit flexibility to cross-train in home cell and rotate or work in other cells as assigned
- Participate and practice good ergonomics and housekeeping on a daily basis
- Show initiative to follow company rules and policies, encourage teamwork, and pursue continuous improvement and involvement in the work environment
- Perform assigned tasks within guidelines of lean manufacturing, 5S, and standardization concepts
- Set and maintain an acceptable work pace and effectively minimize downtime and distractions
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to use large wrenches up to 3 feet long
- Ability to use an overhead crane
- Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are large and small
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on an assembly line
