What you will do as a Forklift Operator:
- Partner with Quality Assurance, executing and supporting all Quality programs that ensure the production of safe and quality foods
- Operate forklift to move products throughout the distribution area
- Accurately load and unload products in accordance with customer/vendor orders using any necessary container configuration (railcar, shipping container, trailer)
- Accurately and legibly complete all paperwork
- Source product inventory for shipment using inventory tracking software
- Receive materials and product into inventory tracking software
- Maintain warehouse order by combining rows, sweeping, picking up cans from floor as well as other duties deemed necessary
- Responsible for strict observance of all safety rules and will use extreme caution around moving machinery
- Responsible for compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) as well as strict observance of all safety rules
- Effectively cooperate with direct supervision as well as maintain professional and cooperative relationships with all employees
- Ability to operate a forklift and pass forklift certification training
- Ability to read, understand and comply with work directions, training manuals, safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Processes
- Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to read and understand training manuals
- Ability to consistently lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
