Director of Engineering Job SummaryThe Director of Engineering is responsible for managing and overseeing the engineering function for the entire organization including business case for new products and their corresponding rollouts. Prioritizing opportunities and creating product designs that allow us to position ourselves as the frontrunner in the industry is crucial. Designs need to be able to meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and ensure manufacturing is as efficient as possible. New products are released in a phase-gate process and the ability to ensure all steps are properly managed is essential. This position oversees mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers.

What a Director of Engineering will do:
- Generate product concepts by determining the technical feasibility of new product ideas and updates
- Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained
- Provide engineering expertise and training as needed to the organization
- Approve new and changes to the Bill of Materials
- Manage product design from design to rollout
- Maintain and update the company’s engineering systems and software
- Recommend methods, materials, and layout for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities
- Conduct research to identify market opportunities for new products
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of engineering management work experience
- 3+ years of experience in new product design or design project management
- Ability to interpret and compare technical product specifications
- Ability to write technical product specifications
- Must have strong project management experience
