What a Cell Operator will do:
What a Cell Operator will do:
- Tend to one or more machine tools, special-purpose machines, or industrial robots to machine metal work pieces to specifications on production basis
- Read blueprint or job order for product specifications, such as, dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions, such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations
- Select, position, and secure tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post)
- Identify (including nonconforming dimensions) and separates all nonconforming parts
- Seal parts with rust preventative, as required
- Produce parts at a rate which meets or exceeds accepted production standards
- Performs accurate inspections required by the print/job sheet using measuring instruments such as, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to measure work piece for conformation to specifications
- Notify lead and/or supervisor of discrepancies
- Perform secondary operations and inspections, including deburring and cleaning parts produced, as cycle time permits
- Counts finished parts and packs them neatly into a clean container
- Enter required data into computer
- Keep machine and tools clean, properly lubricated, and in good operating condition
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ months of relative experience and/or training
- Ability to measure components and assemblies to verify conformance to the print (tape measure, scale, caliper)
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including a basic understanding of various types of tools used in the machining process
- Knowledge of gases and power sources used in the welding process
- Ability to read and interpret load out list, shipment schedule, and all other related work documents #WEjobhunt
