What a CNC Set-Up Operator will do:

What a CNC Set-Up Operator will do:
- Load and secure materials and tools into the CNC machine
- Set machine parameters such as speed, feed rate, and tool changes based on technical specifications and blueprints
- Operate CNC machines to produce parts and tools according to specifications
- Input and modify CNC programs using machine controls or programming software
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to optimize production and ensure quality
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure they meet required specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on machines to ensure consistent accuracy and performance
- Identify and resolve issues with machines, tools, or materials that may affect production
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance to keep machines in good working order
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and any adjustments made
- Report any defects or issues to supervisors and suggest improvements to processes or equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training or certification in CNC operation is preferred
- Previous experience as a CNC Set-Up Operator or in a similar technical role is a plus
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation
- Strong understanding of machine mechanics and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
- High level of accuracy and precision in measuring and inspecting parts
- Ability to diagnose and address issues quickly and effectively
