What you’ll do as the CNC Set-Up Operator:
- Program and set-up of Precision OD & Centerless Grinding Machines
- Read and interpret complex part drawings
- Set up and operate all grinding equipment
- Use multiple metrology methods (contact and non-contact) to verify part configuration and conformance to print specification – surface finish, straightness, concentricity, etc.
- Develop tooling and gauging to produce and measure complex part geometries
- Troubleshoot parts during set-up and run cycles to ensure the cycle times quoted are met
- Ensure daily output is met and machines are running on schedule at expected quality levels
- Maintain safety standards and comply with standard operating procedures
- Troubleshoot machines and feeder systems, and collaborate with outside machine tool providers
What you need to be a CNC Set-Up Operator:
- High School diploma required
- Previous experience in an industrial, team manufacturing environment is desired
- Ability to continuously follow instructions explicitly
- Ability to continuously follow safety protocols
- Ability to determine output quality based on specification measurement as instructed
- Mechanical and mathematical aptitude is preferred
